Coty’s New ‘Mexx Scenting Experience’ Includes Personal and Home Scenting Products

EDPs, body care and "interior perfume" are housed in sustainable packaging with bio-based materials.

Coty has unveiled the Mexx Scenting Experience, which spans from eau de parfum to scented body care to a home fragrance “interior perfume.”

“This is a significant milestone for Coty and Mexx. We are unleashing the brand potential by expanding with this new collection and delivering a high-quality set of products in such an important category. As the name suggests, we really want to elevate the experience to our consumers in assuring they get immersive scenting experience,” noted Stefano Curti, chief brands officer, Consumer Beauty.

Fragrance Pillars

The Mexx Scenting Experience is split into two pillars—Inspired Nature and Inspired Warmth. Coty says they are designed to ignite different moods.

Inspired Nature draws inspiration from the serenity of the outdoors with calming notes of bergamot, lilly of the valley, vetiver or cedarwood, creating a sense of balance and harmony.

Inspired Warmth is infused with notes of ginger, vanilla, plum accord or benzoin that provide a feeling of cosiness.

Each product in the collection is vegan and mood-boosting.  The fragrance and body care products have been dermatologically tested. The body care range has been designed with up to 96% natural ingredients, delivering extra sensorial formulas on skin to awaken the senses, says Coty.

Sustainable Packaging Elements

The fragrances come in a glass bottle made with 25% post-consumer recycled material. Cartons are made from certified materials that support responsible forestry.

For the body care and home care ranges, products contain a minimum of 21% to up to 85% recycled plastic across the range.

For the first time, Coty has also incorporated a bio-based material in a selection of its caps. The component, Sulapac, is composed from wood chips and plant-based binders. Coty says it is proven to have a lower carbon footprint compared to fossil-based plastics.

“At Coty, sustainability is the driver for innovation, and we are constantly thinking of new ways to design and manufacture our products. This also means developing a packaging that can reduce environmental impact. The solution we are providing to the Mexx collection is one step forward into contributing to this goal,” Shimei Fan, chief scientific officer.
